Influence of gasdynamic shock waves on the lasing kinetics in a flashlamp-pumped iodine photodissociation laser

B. D. Bobrov, V. M. Kiselev, A. S. Grenishin
Abstract: An increase was observed in the population inversion and laser output power of an active medium compressed by a shock wave. The thickness of the compression region in which lasing was observed was 8–10 nm, even after the pump pulse had terminated.
