Acoustooptic interaction in a diffused waveguide with a dielectric film. II. Experiments

Experimental results are reported and these confirm a considerable increase in the efficiency of the acoustooptic interaction of TE and TM modes in a diffused waveguide coated by a dielectric (As₂Se₃) film characterized by a high refractive index. A method is suggested for the determination of the optical parameters of such coatings. A description is given of apparatus for the measurement of the coupling coefficient representing the acoustooptic interaction.
