Kinetics of the spectrum and of the brightness temperature of an optical breakdown plasma near a glass surface

Yu. M. Vas'kovskiĭ, I. A. Gordeeva, R. E. Rovinskiĭ, I. P. Shirokova
Abstract: An investigation was made of the time and space characteristics of the spectrum and of the brightness temperature of a plasma formed near the surface of glass during some technological processes. It was found that when the energy of the incident radiation was 106–107 W/cm2, an air spectrum appeared first and this changed in 6–8 μ sec to the emission spectrum of glass. In the same time the maximum brightness temperature of the plasma decreased from 7×103 to 2×103 K.
