Nonlinear rotation of the polarization of optical radiation in a medium with static electrostriction

Abstract: The geometric optics approximation is used in an analysis of two mechanisms of nonlinear rotation of the polarization in a medium with static electrostriction, associated with beam twisting and with a transverse inhomogeneity of the angle between the intensity vector and a coordinate axis.
