Abstract:
The results are given of calorimetric, time, spectral, and polarization measurements of radiation reflected back from a plasma heated by nanosecond laser pulses of λ = 1.06 and 0.53 μ at power densities exceeding 1014 W/cm2 at the target surface. It is shown that the absorption of the λ = 0.53 μ radiation by a plasma is three times as strong as the absorption of the λ = 1.06 μ radiation.
