Abstract: Equations are obtained for the change in the total energy of an ultrashort coherent light pulse traveling across a semiconductor under two-photon interband resonance conditions. It is shown that the absorption of such a pulse may be several orders of magnitude less than the absorption of a weak incoherent pulse.
