Spectrum of a nonlinear optical resonator exhibiting frequency dispersion

Abstract:
An equation of motion is obtained for a laser whose resonator exhibits frequency dispersion. It is shown that the dispersion which occurs, for example, in the presence of an additional mirror may be the cause of pulsations of the output from gas and solid-state lasers.
