Measurement of the radius of curvature of a laser beam by an interferometric method

Abstract: An interferometric method is developed for the measurement of the radius of curvature of a laser beam, particularly that emitted by a CO2 laser. The principal calculation equations are derived. Working graphs are plotted for the determination of the radius of curvature of the phase front and for the distribution of the field phase across the beam.
