Some problems in the optimization of holographic memories

A theoretical analysis is made of the optimization of the information characteristics of a high-capacity holographic memory. The quantity being maximized is the product of the information capacity of a hologram (i.e., the number of information bits per unit area) and power of the optical signal reaching light detectors. Relationships are obtained to help with the design of a transparency and a detector array.
