Role of nonlinear absorption in phase conjugation of infrared radiation under conditions of a four-wave interaction in semiconductors

Abstract:
Numerical simulation was used to analyze the quality of phase conjugation under conditions of a four-wave counterpropagating interaction in a medium exhibiting a reactive nonlinearity and nonlinear absorption. It was found that nonlinear absorption may improve the phase conjugation quality which is governed by the difference between the pump amplitudes, by the self-interaction of the pump beams, and by the ratio of the beam radii.
