Lasers

Pulse-periodic neodymium-activated yttrium orthoaluminate laser with a slab amplifier

P. P. Pashinin, V. S. Sidorin, V. V. Tumorin, E. I. Shklovskii
Abstract: Variants of a laser system with a stimulated Brillouin scattering mirror were developed using an active element comprising a neodymium-activated yttrium orthoaluminate slab. The system could be operated at a pulse repetition frequency up to 5 Hz with an output energy up to 3 J in a beam having a divergence close to the diffraction limit.
