Investigation of the energy and spectral characteristics of light scattered by a laser plasma

Abstract: An investigation was made of the reflection of laser light from a plasma formed by laser radiation obliquely incident on a planar target. It was observed that when the power density of the heating radiation was increased to 3×1015 W/cm2, reflection in the specular direction and backward into the aperture of the focusing objective increased. Various features observed experimentally in the energy and spectral characteristics of the scattered light were analyzed.
