Nonlinear optical phenomena

Influence of an initial excitation of a medium on transient stimulated Raman scattering of light

I. A. Kulagin, T. B. Usmanov

"Akadempribor" Research and Production Association, Academy of Science of Uzbekistan, Tashkent
Abstract: Simple analytic solutions, obtained for the energy density of the amplified radiation, are used to analyse the influence of various types of excitation of a medium on the processes of essentially transient stimulated Raman scattering and inverse Raman scattering in a powerful laser radiation field. It is shown that the excitation may alter the nature of amplification and may also reveal the initial ratio of the phases of the interacting waves.
