Abstract:
The geometry of flat active elements with zigzag-shaped ray paths is analyzed. Utilization of such active elements in solid-state lasers is considered. A configuration of an active element made of a phosphate glass with a silicon dioxide coating and grazing zigzag-shaped ray paths is proposed, implemented, and checked theoretically and experimentally. The promising nature of this configuration for the use in solid-state lasers is demonstrated.
