Narrowing of a high-power light pulse in a medium with an optical–collisional nonlinearity

Abstract:
An analysis is made of a high-intensity laser pulse in a medium with an optical–collisional nonlinearity. It is shown that the contrast of the pulses can be increased by the passage through a medium with nonlinear absorption of the Landau–Zener type.
