Efficient up-conversion of a CO2 laser frequency in sodium vapor

Abstract: A quantum efficiency of 65% (corresponding to a power efficiency of 2640%) was achieved in up-conversion of λ = 10.8 μ CO2 laser radiation by resonant parametric mixing in sodium vapor.
