Chemical laser amplifier using a photon-branched reaction in an aerosol medium
V. I. Igoshin, S. Yu. Pichugin
Abstract:
An analysis is made of the possibility of a photon-branched process in a chemically active aerosol medium. The medium in question is that of a chemical DF–CO2 laser in which disperse aluminum particles of definite concentration n and with an average radius r0 are injected. When this medium is subjected to infrared laser radiation, aluminum is evaporated and interacts with fluorine to form free F atoms. It is shown that the proposed initiation method may be used to construct purely chemical pulsed amplifiers of coherent radiation with an energy gain 10–20.
