Subharmonic excitation of injection lasers

F. K. Vaĭtekunas, Yu. B. Vishnyauskas, S. K. Kurshyalis
Abstract: An analysis was made of resonant subharmonic excitation of injection lasers and a physical interpretation of the process was developed. The range of frequencies in which pulse excitation was possible at the frequency of the first subharmonic of the modulating signal was determined experimentally as a function of a constant pump current. The possibility of excitation of injection lasers at the frequencies of the second and third subharmonics was demonstrated.
