Abstract: An investigation was made of the influence of pressure and composition of the active medium on the switching properties of a gas discharge gap and energy characteristics of a CO2 laser. When the energy input was sufficiently high, the active medium became superradiant. The threshold energy inputs at which the medium became superradiant were determined for various pressures in the active medium. The superradiance energy was found as a function of the energy input.
