Investigation of a combined discharge used to pump fast-flow lasers

V. G. Naumov, V. M. Shashkov
Abstract: An investigation was made of the characteristics of a combined (pulse and dc) discharge in a wide range of pressures and velocities of a gas mixture. Optimal values of the current density of ionizing pulses and of their repetition frequency were determined. Optimization made it possible to improve considerably the working characteristics of a combined discharge compared with those given in the published literature.
