Estimate of the influence of secondary scattering on the diffraction efficiency of volume holograms of diffuse objects
A. P. Yakimovich
Abstract:
An analysis is made of the influence of secondary scattering of reconstructed waves on the diffraction efficiency of transmission and reflection holograms of diffuse objects. It is shown that such secondary scattering may be approximated by an exponential attenuation of the reconstructing and reconstructed waves in the interior of a hologram. The attenuation constant of this process is proportional to the angular dimensions of an object and inversely proportional to the hologram thickness. The dependences of the diffraction efficiency on the modulation amplitude of holograms are obtained for different strengths of secondary scattering.
