Theoretical analysis of the formation of the active medium in a supersonic oxygen–iodine laser
N. L. Kupriyanov, S. P. Sannikov
Abstract:
A theoretical model is proposed for describing the dissociation kinetics of molecular iodine in singlet oxygen when a gas mixture flows through a supersonic nozzle. An analysis is made of two iodine mixing variants, in subsonic and supersonic zones. A method is developed for a general analysis of the problem, including calculations of limiting regimes and representation of the results in terms of similarity parameters. Calculated data are presented to predict the scope of different variants of the supersonic system.
