Deexcitation of the 6s states of the Xe atom in high-pressure Ar–Xe mixtures

N. N. Sazhina, N. N. Ustinovskii, I. V. Kholin
Abstract: The processes of collisional deexcitation of the 3P1 resonant and 3P2 metastable states of the Xe atom in high-pressure Ar–Xe mixtures with a low concentration of Xe were investigated using an absorption probing method. Measurements were made of the effective rate constants of three-particle and two-particle quenching collisions of Xe*(3P1,2) atoms with neutral particles.
