Generation of squeezed electromagnetic field states by nonlinearly coupled quantum oscillators
O. V. Lukashina, A. N. Oraevsky, I. E. Protsenko
Abstract:
A new scheme is proposed for the generation of squeezed electromagnetic field states by the excitation of nonlinearly coupled oscillators with multiple frequencies ω0≈2ωp. A resonance between the oscillators may ensure highly efficient conversion of the pump radiation into a squeezed field. Slow relaxation is assumed to take into account the temporal dynamics of the medium, which gives rise to a squeezing threshold, the appearance of oscillations with a large number of particles, generation of a squeezed pulse of finite average amplitude from vacuum, and other features. The squeezing conditions for infrared radiation in vibrational modes of polyatomic molecules were deduced.
