Abstract:
Stimulated radiation was emitted by LiNd(PO3)4 and NdP5O14 powders. The stimulated emission spectra of powders consisting of relatively large particles (up to 200 μm), many of which had a regular shape, consisted of several lines within the luminescence profile of the active transition in neodymium. An increase in the pump intensity during the process resulted in a shift of the stimulated emission frequency toward longer wavelengths. Grinding of the powder particles, so that they became smaller, changed the stimulated radiation to single-frequency and the line position now coincided with the central frequency of the active transition. In this case the kinetics of the stimulated emission spectrum was indistinguishable from that observed earlier for Na5La1 – x(MoO4)4:Ndx and La1.98O2S:Nd0.02 powders.
