Low-threshold lasing of LiYF4:Pr3+ crystals in the 0.72 μm range as a result of flashlamp pumping at 300 К

Abstract:
Low-threshold stimulated radiation emitted by Pr3+ ions in an LiYF4 crystal was observed for the first time at 300 К when the crystal was pumped by flashlamp radiation. The wavelength of the emitted radiation was 0.7206 μm and it was due to the 3P0→3P4 transition.
