Lasers

Highly efficient YSGG:Cr:Nd laser with a polarization-closed resonator

G. I. D'yakonov, V. G. Lyan, V. A. Mikhaĭlov, S. K. Pak, I. A. Shcherbakov
Abstract: An investigation of a YSGG:Cr:Nd laser with a polarization-closed resonator and electrooptic Q switching made it possible to achieve an efficiency of ~ 3.1%. The energy of single pulses of linearly polarized output radiation was up to 0.4 J. The output parameters of this layer were practically independent of the thermal birefringence in the active element when the pulse repetition frequency was up to 50 Hz.
