Theory of cascade third-harmonic generation

Sh. Sh. Amirov, Z. A. Tagiev, M. G. Shakhtakhtinski
Abstract: A theory of cascade third-harmonic generation is developed using the constant-intensity approximation which takes into account the reverse reaction of the harmonic on the phase of the exciting waves. The optimal lengths of the first and second crystals giving the highest efficiency of conversion to the third harmonic were determined. It is shown that by optimizing the parameters of the problem, a highly efficient cascade third-harmonic generator may be achieved.
