Abstract: A theoretical investigation is made of the feasibility of improving the quality of phase conjugation by four-wave interaction (mixing) in media with a noncubic nonlinearity. It is shown that distortions of the angular spectrum of the reflected wave can be weakened considerably by expanding the angular spectrum of the signal radiation.
