Nonlinear optical effects
New class of solitons in fiber waveguides near the zero-dispersion point
V. K. Mezentsev, S. K. Turitsyn
Abstract:
The existence of a new type of steady-state pulses is predicted for optical fibers near the zero-dispersion point. These new solitons are in the form of two "merged" fundamental solitons with opposite phases.
