Numerical modeling of phase conjugation accompanying stimulated Brillouin scattering of focused beams with spherical wavefront aberrations

Abstract:
An investigation was made of the influence of spherical wavefront aberrations (not exceeding ~ 2λ) of both polarities on the quality of phase conjugation of super-Gaussian beams. It was found that positive spherical aberrations with a positive phase cofactor and not exceeding ~ 2λ in magnitude have a negligible influence on the phase conjugation quality, whereas negative aberrations of the order of λ cause an appreciable quality deterioration.
