Full-text PDF (509 kB) Citations (4)
Abstract: Optical quality 3-methoxy-4-hydrobenzaldehyde (vanillin) crystals were grown. All the nonzero components of the nonlinear susceptibility tensor and the dispersion of the refractive indices were determined. These vanillin crystals combined a record value of the nonlinear susceptibility with a wide transparency range and a high optical strength when exposed to laser radiation.
