Abstract: Measurements were made of the gain in a disk amplifier module containing neodymium-activated phosphate glass active elements with an aperture of 24 cm. When the pump energy was 580 kJ, the small-signal gain experienced in the module was 0.015 cm-1 for pulses of 2.5 ns duration and 40 mJ cm-2 energy density.
