Abstract:
A method for suppression of a broad-band background by induced mode competition in the case of two-frequency injection and frequency locking with the aid of a high-power pulsed dye laser was developed and tested. The induced mode competition under two-frequency injection conditions made it possible to suppress the background and increase the efficiency of energy conversion to narrow injected lines compared with the one-frequency case. Different variants of such two-frequency injection were studied as a function of the ratio of the intensities, spectral line positions, and excitation conditions.
