Integrated-optics system for a read/write head in disk holographic memory devices

An investigation was made of the possibility of fabricating planar acoustooptic systems intended for operation in read/write heads of disk holographic memory devices. An optical system for such a device was made from homogeneous refracting waveguide lenses. The basic factors limiting the data recording density were identified. A prototype planar acoustooptic system for a 12-bit device was constructed and investigated.
