Abstract:
Continuous tuning of the emission frequency between nine vibrational transitions in the XeCl molecule was achieved in a long-pulse (0.5-μs) XeCl laser by the use of an intracavity Fabry–Perot etalon. The laser tuning range between 307.00 and 308.93 nm was ~202 cm–1 and the lasing line width was down to 1.4 cm–1. Lasing due to the 1–5 vibrational transition was achieved for the first time. The tuning range (1.93 nm) was better than any other published result.
