Control of laser radiation parameters

Resonances in the emission spectrum of a broadband laser containing a strongly absorbing atomic medium in a magnetic field

A. P. Voitovich, O. E. Kostik, V. V. Mashko
Abstract: An investigation was made of the lasing characteristics of a dye laser with a resonator containing potassium vapor of high optical density in a longitudinal magnetic field. Output power resonances, tunable by the magnetic field, were discovered within absorption dips in the lasing spectrum. The tuning rates of the resonances and their separation from the centers of the transitions exceeded tens of times the corresponding Zeeman splitting values of the absorption lines.
