Nonlinear optics

Small-scale self-focusing of intersecting optical beams

N. N. Zhukov, O. P. Zaskal'ko, A. G. Kamushkin, V. V. Korobkin
Abstract: It has been established that small-scale self-focusing of intersecting optical beams may take place in media with positive and negative cubic susceptibilities. Moreover, preferential amplification is achieved for noise waves whose directions of propagation lie on a conical surface which passes through the initial beams and whose axis is perpendicular to the bisector of the angle of convergence of the beams.
