Abstract:
An investigation demonstrated the feasibility of amplification of a weak seed Stokes radiation generated by concurrent and counterpropagating stimulated Raman scattering in a barium nitrate crystal. The subsequent amplification took place in a crystal of LiF containing F2– color centers, which made it possible to achieve a high efficiency of conversion of the pump energy into the energy of the Stokes radiation without focusing the pump beam.
