Optical self-oscillatory medium based on a Fabry–Perot interferometer

M. A. Vorontsov, A. N. Rakhmanov, V. I. Shmalgauzen
Abstract: An experimental demonstration is reported of the feasibility of using an MIS–liquid crystal cell inside a Fabry–Perot interferometer as a self-oscillatory medium for the transmission of excitations in the form of traveling pulses. It is shown that the processes in such an active medium are similar to self-oscillatory processes in the Belousov–Zhabotinskii reaction.
