Injection laser under self-Q-switching conditions

Full-text PDF (826 kB) Citations (5)
Abstract: A theoretical study is made of self-switching in a semiconductor laser subjected to nonuniform pumping. The rate equations are solved in the relaxation approximation. It is shown that the solution makes it possible to obtain a fairly accurate picture of the dynamics of the oscillation process. The dependences of the parameters of self-switched pulses on the pumping current are calculated for one specific geometry of a two-component laser.
