Influence of predetector conversion of carrier frequency on the sensitivity of infrared radiation receivers

V. A. Kudryashov, I. N. Matveev, S. M. Pshenichnikov
Abstract: A theoretical analysis is given of the statistical characteristics of an optical receiver with parametric conversion of the carrier frequency. It is shown that the noise factor of such a receiver can be minimized. The formulas and the results of calculations are given for noise encountered in specific infrared radiation receivers.
