Abstract:
A multielement laser of the emitting mirror type was constructed from a GaAs crystal and pumped by electron beam bombardment. The output power increased linearly with increasing area of the multielement target. An output of 28 kW from a crystal of 1 cm2 area was achieved. The angular divergence of the beam was 7° and the emission spectrum consisted of several lines corresponding to oscillation modes of the Fabry–Perot resonator.
