Anisotropic optical traveling-wave resonator
V. I. Chernen'kii
Abstract:
A theoretical investigation is reported of the polarization of normal oscillation modes in an optical traveling-wave resonator containing a linear half-wave plate and a Faraday cell. Computer calculations are reported of the loss curves, phase shifts, ellipticity, and azimuths of normal oscillation modes in an anisotropic resonator. All these properties are considered as a function of the azimuth of the half-wave plate. The amplitude and phase nonreciprocity of the resonator are investigated. A comparison is made between normal oscillation modes in resonators with even and odd numbers of mirrors.
