Optical phase conjugation in a degenerate resonator with a saturable absorber and a gain medium

Abstract: A theory is derived for the absorption (or amplification) of a weak wave in a dye solution saturated by an intense laser wave. Experiments show that a saturable dye can be used as a nonlinear medium for optical phase conjugation of a pump laser beam in a degenerate resonator.
