Abstract:
A single-mode, cw stimulated emission of Nd3+ ions (through the 4F3/2→4I11/2 channel) has been excited efficiently (at an efficiency up to 30%) in nonlinear trigonal LaBGeO5, La3Ga5.5Nb0.5O14 and La3Ga5.5Ta0.5O14 crystals. These crystals hold promise for lasers with self-multiplication of generation frequency. The excitation was achieved at room temperature with diode-laser pumping.
