Quarter-wave plate tunable in a wide wavelength range

Abstract: An analysis is made of the possibility of widerange tuning of a polarisation system with the properties of a quarter-wave plate. A method which can be used to tune this system to an unknown wavelength is proposed and its implementation is described.
