Interaction of two modes in a laser-active quasiwaveguide layer

G. V. Arutyunyan, G. P. Dzhotyan, G. R. Sarkisyan

Scientific and Production Association "Laser Technology" at Yerevan State University
Abstract: The injection of two electromagnetic waves into an active quasiwaveguide layer is investigated. It is shown that hysteretic switching of the direction of lasing of the quasiwaveguide layer is possible. A self-trapping effect is identified. The output intensities can exhibit a multistable dependence on the intensity of an input signal.
