Abstract:
The spatial characteristics of the light flux from exciplex lamps have been studied. An analytic expression is derived for the light intensity distribution at various distances from a cylindrical source. The intensity falls off sharply with increasing distance from the emitting surface. Intense emission has been found at wavelengths of 193, 222, 250, and 308 nm, with a power density up to 5 kW/cm2.
