Need to filter ultraviolet radiation in the pumping of neodymium glass lasers

Abstract: The influence of ultraviolet radiation on the performance characteristics of neodymium glass lasers was determined. The results obtained indicated that it was essential to eliminate completely the pumping radiation whose wavelengths corresponded to the inactive absorption region of the laser elements.
